Did you know that 30% of high school students in the U.S. don't make it to graduation? Nearly every day 7,000 students leave schools around the country. The issues and distractions high school students deal with on a daily basis are overwhelming: family, jobs, peer pressure, studying/homework, violence in and out of the schools, extracurricular activities, teen pregnancy, and more!!
So, what can you do about it??
Visit www.boostup.org. Boostup is a website that sends encouraging messages to students to support them in their efforts to graduate!!! It's simple and easy. Just visit the website, click on BOOST, and send a quick message of hope and encouragement to a student in need! You can also read about students in the program, statistics related to high school graduation, how you and others can make a difference in helping students graduate, and more!!
CHECK IT OUT!
We've already sent 3 boosts in 5 minutes today.... make a difference in someone's life!!

March - April GK WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
Attention Education Majors
CLICK HERE FOR THE NEW GK WORKSHOP SCHEDULE
We will be running four more weeks of GKE workshops at South Campus per attached schedule. Saturday workshops are mostly geared to students who attended the first 8 weeks of workshops this semester and will reinforce concepts already learned. As always, everyone is welcome to attend; however, material covered will be to address “gaps” from first 8 weeks. You can also attend the “open tutoring” workshops during the weekdays, and those are individualized tutoring per subject area. All are free.
Please register to take the GKE as soon as possible. If you want to join BC’s Teacher Ed Program, you need to pass at least the Essay portion of the GKE; otherwise, you will not be able to join until you do. The Essay portion of the GKE substitutes the narrative requirement to join TEP.
Keep up the good work with your classes!!! And don’t forget to register for Summer, all classes are open for registration.
